Yoshi’s Tea & Bakery

Branding

Inspired by Japanese hanko (carved stamps usually used as a signature) this branding balances tradition and modern designs. The letterforms are influenced by characters, with a simpler, smaller logo for use in hard to read instances.

The mochi pattern connects to the product of the business while also tying it back to Japanese roots through alluding to wagara (traditional patterns).

The letterform style was built out into menu icons to create a consistent feel across the brand’s collateral.

Lastly, the box was inspired by traditional origami folding.
